Security tightened in cities for Ganesh Visarjans
Major markets, bus and train stations and airports are under tight security.

Mumbai: Security is tight in Mumbai with the city getting ready for Ganesh Visarjans under the cloud of the Delhi blasts.

Cities like Hyderabad, Kolkata and Bangalore will have large numbers of police personnel on the roads and are also doing everything to ensure a safe send-off for lord Ganpati.

They will be directing traffic and generally keeping things under check.

Major markets, bus and train stations as well as airports are under a tight security blanket.

Each city will have its own specific routes on which devotees will carry the Ganpatis to be immerssed.

Sixty six thousand Ganesha idols were immersed at the Hussein Sagar lake.

Thousands of devotess from the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabd gathered at the historic lake to bid adieu to their favourite lord with about 20,000 security personel providing the security.

Several Ganesha processions passed through the old city with the historic Charminar providing the perfect background.

The day long immersion will end with the final immersion of the cities tallest idol which is about 42 feet tall post midnight.
