CHENNAI: The finals of the CFA Institute Research Challenge India (South Zone) saw seven teams from management schools across the South clashing on Sunday. CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual, global educational initiative promoting the best practices in equity research among the next generation of analysts through hands-on mentoring and intensive training in company analysis and presentation skills. This year, more than 3,000 students from 600 universities are expected to participate from nearly 50 countries, including Vietnam, Kenya and Colombia for the first time. The Indian Association of Investment Professionals (IAIP) in partnership with CFA Institute, who are hosting this competition, is conducting the contest at different zones in the country. The winning teams from each zone will compete at the national-level final to be held in Mumbai in December. The winner will represent India at the Asia Pacific Regional round. A total of 32 teams from Indian B-schools will compete for a place in the Asia Pacific Regional final to be held in Hong kong in Feburary 2011.At the South Zonal Final, all seven teams made their presentations to a panel of experts on the Research and Analysis on Coromandel International Limited, which is the second largest phosphatic fertiliser player in India.The participating teams were from IIM Bangalore; IIM Kolkata; Indian School of Business, Hyderabad; IIT, Madras; The Institute for Financial Management and Research, Chennai; TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal and Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai.
