Shuttler Anand Pawar reaches main draw of Denmark Open
Pawar notched up a 26-24, 21-15 win over Flemming Quach in the first round and then prevailed over Domke 21-7, 21-17 in the second round.

Odense: Indian shuttler Anand Pawar powered his way to the main draw of the men's singles competition with a straight-game victory over German's Dieter Domke in the Denmark Super Series Premier on Tuesday.

Pawar notched up a 26-24, 21-15 win over local player Flemming Quach in the first round and then prevailed over Domke 21-7, 21-17 in the second round of the qualification.

K Srikanth too had reached the second round with a 21-13, 21-8 victory over Christian Lind Thomsen but he failed to get across Japan's Kento Momota in the second round of the qualifiers.

It was curtains for Sourabh Verma and H S Prannoy as well.

Earlier in the day, Sourabh Verma lost to Estonia's Raul Must 13-21, 21-6, 18-21, while H S Prannoy suffered a 13-21, 8-21 loss to Momota in another qualifier. The main draw starts on Wednesday.
