CHENNAI: A Plus Two student, who was writing her board exams, slipped and fell off the first floor of the building of a private school at Chetpet after she rushed out of the classroom to vomit, on Friday.Police said Meenakshi (16) from Brindavan Colony, Chetpet, a Plus Two student studying in a private school on Harrington Road in Chetpet, was writing her physics paper, when she felt a vomiting sensation. Sources said Meenakshi stepped out of her classroom and then leaned against the balcony of the first floor to throw up when she slipped and fell off, fracturing her hand. Police sources said that the girl was the school topper in the Class 10 board exams. The girl had studied the whole night and had little sleep, besides not taking breakfast. It is said that the girl was also tensed about the exams and had felt giddy before she fell off, police added. The exam supervisors rescued the girl and admitted her to a nearby private hospital. Meanwhile, rumours spread in the school and the neighbourhood that the girl had attempted suicide after she had found the physics paper tough. “We heard some noise after more than an hour, we started our exam. Later, people said that a student had attempted suicide. We don’t know what really happened,” a student claimed.
