Mumbai: Small sugar prices recovered marginally at the Vashi wholesale market on Friday on modest offtake from stockist and bulk consumers.

Meanwhile, medium sugar fell owing to subdued demand from stockists and retailers amidst ample supplies.

Small sugar (S-30) moved up Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 3,074/3,190 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 3,072/3,190. However, medium sugar (M-30) eased by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,200/3,352 as against Rs 3,210/3,352 on Thursday.

Following are Friday's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets: Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,074/3,190 (Rs 3,072/3,190).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,200/3,352 (Rs 3,210/3,352).
