HYDERABAD: City police commissioner A K Khan said Special Investigation Teams have been formed to probe into the communal incidents at Madannapet and Saidabad localities on Sunday. He said 17 criminal cases, six in Saidabad, five in Madannapet, three in Moghulpura, two Hussainialam and one in Kanchanbagh police stations have been registered.Twelve persons who suffered injuries were shifted to Osmania, Gandhi and other private hospitals. A total of 57 persons were taken into preventive custody.As a precautionary measure additional forces were deployed at strategic points, patrolling intensified in all sensitive areas and a close watch has been kept on the trouble mongers and rowdy elements. The police personnel drafted for bandobust arrangements are alert and vigilant to handle any situation, Khan said.Meanwhile, police said students appearing for SSC and degree examinations would be permitted to go to examination centres by showing the hall tickets along with one attendant who has to show his identity proof when required.
