Two men were killed after a speeding truck hit their motorcycle, triggering angry protests by the locals who blocked National Highway 2 for over two hours on Monday.
Rahul (22) and Satveer (21), who worked at a printing press in Mathura, were returning home to Naugaon in Chhatta area, when the truck going to Delhi from Agra hit them from behind near Akbarpur.
"The truck driver has been nabbed but both the youths succumbed to injuries on the spot" SSP Gulab Singh said. The truck driver has claimed that he could not see the two youths owing to dense fog.
In protest of the accident, villagers blocked the NH2 which could not be lifted even two hours after the accident.
