BANGALORE: As part of their routine inspection, the Standing Committee on Administration, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, inspected the administrative set up in the Bommanahalli revenue office on Monday morning.The committee met with the officials and asked them to brief the committee about the workings of the office. Along with details about attendance, the committee also collected information about the amount of revenue collected. On finding out that there was still some amount of revenue yet to be collected, Krishnappa, Chairman, Standing Committee, BBMP directed the officers at the office to collect the pending revenue as soon as possible.The Committee also discovered that there were some vacant posts that needed to be filled. Members of the committee then directed the office bearers at the Bommanahalli office to take sufficient steps to fill up vacancies. The committee also issued directions to reshuffle water suppliers across all wards.The committee attempted to install a sense of responsibility in the engineers by asking them to take sufficient steps towards protecting the property of the corporation. During the inspection the Environment Engineers were asked to seek permission before planting any saplings in the area. The Electrical Engineers were also asked to conduct an inspection of their wards each day after 6.30 pm to check if there are enough streetlights in the ward. Further, if there is a shortage, they were asked to ensure that streetlights are provided in all areas.
