PATHANAMTHITTA: Valiya Metropolitan of Mar Thoma Church Philipose Mar Chrysostum has called on the faithful to pray and surrender before the God to free them from all burdens and bestow a peaceful and happy living.Delivering the discourse at the 117th Maramon Convention on the third day on Tuesday, the Valiya Metropolitan said that in a life with all burdens and slavery, the people had only one choice before them, God. Mar Chrysostum said that only the God could liberate the human beings from their worldly sufferings and ailments. Mar Chrysostum said that the faithful should feel the presence of God and pray for His blessings so that they could live in happiness.“The faithful should have the broad mindset to love their fellow beings and lend a helping hand to them,” the Valiya Metropolitan said. “The people should pray to God for giving them a soft mind to feel the sorrows of their fellow beings,” Mar Chrysostum said. “In addition, God’s blessings are needed to help the problem-stricken people,” the Valiya Metropolitan said. Gregorios Mar Zepahnios presided over the meeting.Major Archbishop of Malankara Catholic Church Baselios Mar Clemis delivered the key-note address. Archbishop of Malankara Catholic Church Thomas Mar Koorilos and Joseph Mar Koorilos of Thozhiyur Church spoke.Evangelistic Association general secretary Rev Abraham P Oommen welcomed the gathering. Joseph Marthoma Metropolitan, Zacharias Mar Theophilos Suffragan Metropolitan, Thomas Mar Timotheos, P P Achenkunju and Thomas T George were present on the occasion.
