In a faux-pas, a Taliban spokesperson made public the identities of people on its email mailing list.
New Delhi: In a faux-pas, a Taliban spokesperson made public the identities of people on its email mailing list, reports ABC News. Qari Yousuf Ahmedi, in an email press release, publicly CC'd the email IDs of everyone on his mailing list, instead of using the BCC function which keeps the email IDs private.
While most of the people on the list of hundreds of recipients were journalists, it also included a few Afghan politicians and academics and activists. Kabul-based journalist Mustafa Kazemi, whose name also figured on the list tweeted, "Taliban have included all 4 of my email addresses on the leaked distribution list of 500 email addresses. Quite reassuring to my safety."
