Directed by Nani Krishna, 'Devaraya' stars Srikant, Vidisha and Meenakshi Deekshit in the lead roles. It has been presented by Nanigadi Cinema and is being produced by Nani Krishna and Kiran Jakkamsetty under the banner of Sunray International Cinema in association with Meka Media. The film which was released recently is running successfully. The film unit held a success meet at the Film Chamber.
Speaking on the occasion, the director said, "Nobody knows the history. We know about a few ordinances. Among those ordinances, I chose an incident based on one ordinance as our movie. We all know that Rayalu had removed the eyes of Appaji. But we don't know the reality and the reason behind the incident. But I chose this point for my story. Though the film may not entertain the intellectuals, mass audiences enjoyed it."
Srikant added. "After 'Mahatma' this film gave me life. In fact, this is the heavy budget film in my career."
Producer Kiran Jakkamsetty thanked the audiences for making the film a big hit. Sivaji Raja, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, Vidisha, Meenakshi, Chittibabu, Rabhu, cameraman Purna and others were present at the event.
