New Delhi: When a British tabloid charged a desperate housewife of being a negligent parent, she was furious.
Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher on Saturday accepted libel damages worth ?100,000 from The Daily Sport for publishing a false report about her.
Hatcher, 41, had sued a British tabloid for libel over its claims she had "sex romps" with men in a Volkswagen van outside her Los Angeles home and neglected her 8-year-old daughter.
The Daily Sport, which published the story in July and repeated it in August, had agreed to pay "very substantial damages", print a front-page apology and promised not to repeat the allegations.
Hatcher, who has won two Golden Globe awards and has just been nominated for a third, had filed the case at the end of November, 2005.
