VISAKHAPATNAM: Three persons were buried alive and one seriously injured in a landslide at Adarshnagar area of the city on Tuesday. A huge mound from the hillock caved in while the workers were digging the slope resulting in the death of three workers. A worker, K Ramana was rescued and admitted to the King George Hospital. His condition is said to be critical.The deceased were identified as A Appla Naidu (52) of Hanumantawaka area in the city, K Narasimhulu (35) and K Rambabu (20) of Tallavalasa village of Tagarapuvalasa mandal in the city.According to the police, M Rammohan Rao, who encroached a piece of land at the hilly area of Adarshnagar, engaged workers to construct a retaining wall. The workers completed half of the work on Monday and were digging since Tuesday morning to complete the construction. “We are still continuing our rescue operation. It is not known if there are more workers under the rubble,” said the police. Relatives of the deceased and locals staged a protest demanding that Government to announce an ex gratia of `10 lakh each to the kin of dead workers.
