Three youths killed in a road accident as truck rams motorcycle

Three youths were killed when the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a truck near Akbarabad area in Kanpur, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday, when the three youths were on their way back home and a speeding truck knocked them down, they said.

The youths, identified as Saurabh (22), Shailendra (23) and Surajbhan succumbed on their way to hospital, police said, adding that the truck driver fled from the spot.

A case has been registered against the absconding accused, they said.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, police said.
