The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) has decided to go ahead with 'Chalo Hyderabad Telangana March' as scheduled on September 30, with or without the government's permission. The TJAC leaders, who met home minister Sabita Indra Reddy on the latter's invitation, made it clear that only annoucement of Telangana state can stop the march.
The TJAC asked the representatives of people from Telangana region, especially ministers, MPs and MLAs, to either achieve statehood for Telangana before September 29 or resign from their posts and join the march.
Briefing the mediapersons after a committee meeting, also attended by the district representatives, at the TNGO Bhavan here on Monday, TJAC chairman prof M Kodandaram said if the ministers and other people's representatives were sincere about Telangana issue, people would not have come on the streets. We were forced to take up the struggle to achieve our Telangana state, he added.
Kodandaram said that the meeting observed a few minutes of silence as a mark of respect to Konda Lakshman Bapuji, who passed away recently. ''It is unfortunate, that Lakshman Bapuji's dream could not be achieved during his life. It is the government's responsibility to ensure that Telangana state is achieved, if it has any respect for the departed soul,'' he said.
He said the March will be peaceful.
