KOCHI: The traffic diversion enforced on an experimental basis ahead of the dismantling of North Rail Overbridge (RoB) passed off smoothly on Monday. The roads were less crowded and the number of vehicles were also lesser, as it was the first working day after the Onam holidays. This also helped the authorities in successfully experimenting the plan. On Monday, only buses, cars and heavy vehicles were allowed through the North Overbridge. The two wheelers and three-wheelers were diverted from Kaloor and Palarivattam towards MG Road via Pulleppady RoB. Though the slight downpour in the afternoon played a bit of spoilsport, creating congestion for motor cyclists and three wheelers at the Kaloor signal. But barring that, the trail run went off without much difficulties. The stretch from Kaloor to North Overbridge, where only heavy vehicles and cars were allowed, remained less congested.
