CHITRADURGA: A 40-member team comprising presidents, chief executive officers, chief planning officers and project directors of six zilla panchayats coming under BRGF (Backward Regions Grant Fund) will visit Bangkok and other parts of Thailand for a weeklong training programme on rural development.
ZP president, C Mahalingappa, on Thursday said, "We will learn administrative procedures and implement the same back home."Mysorebased Abdul Nazir Sab Institute of Rural Development under Centresponsored BRGF has arranged this tour as a part of its training schedule. The forty member group has been divided into two teams, each consisting of 20 members.

Apart from Chitradurga, six districts under BRGF Davangere, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bidar and Yadgir will be part of the team. Officials from the Department of Rural Development and panchayat raj and the Abdul Nazir Sab Institute will also be part of the team.

"The objective is to train the ZP presidents and the officials concerned to effectively implement schemes for rural development.

He added that the trip will provide them exposure on how rural development is implemented there and the parameters used by them in identifying development.

Thailandbased Asian Institute of Technology had been appointed to conduct training sessions and take trainees to various areas where the schemes have been implemented.
