The state government has sanctioned Rs 8.27 crore to the transport department for the construction of office buildings and scientific driving test tracks in identified places across the state.
Transport commissioner Sanjay Kumar had sent proposals for the construction of Downtown Transportation Centre (DTC),Regional Transport Office (RTO), Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) offices along with the driving test tracks at a cost of Rs 15 crore.
According to Regional Transport Authority officials, office buildings have been proposed at Gajuvaka in Visakhapatnam, Kamareddy in Nizambad,Machilipatnam in Krishna district, Parvathipuram in Vizianagaram district and Bahadurapura in Hyderabad district.
