CHENNAI: The Saila Sudha Academy of Excellence in Bharathanatyam and Kuchpudi is dedicating this year's National Art Confluence, to be held on September 3 and 4 in the city, to one of the great poets of twentieth century, Tagore. As part of the programme, Saila Sudha invites performing artists to participate in a dance competition on the works of Tagore. The competition will be judged by some of India's top artists, including researchers and specialists of the poet's works. The winners in the three categories, solo (junior and senior) and group, will be honoured with a plaque at the closing ceremony of the 2011 National Art Confluence. They will also be given a chance at Saila Sudha's 2010 National Art Confluence. The competition will be held on September 4. The last date for registration is August 15 with an entry fee of `500.
