HYDERABAD: The stage is all set for the no-confidence motion to be moved by the Telugu Desam Party against the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government on Thursday when the Assembly meets for the five-day winter session.TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu will lead a procession of his MLAs from NTR Ghat to Assembly at 8 a.m. After reaching the Assembly, the Telangana MLAs would pay tributes to those who laid down their lives for the T cause at the Martyrs’ Memorial and would later join their Seemandhra colleagues.According to Chandrababu Naidu, the notice relating to moving a no-confidence motion would be given to the Speaker with a request to facilitate the motion to be taken up.The Congress bosses, on the other hand, do not see any threat to the Kiran Kumar Reddy government but still they are preparing for the motion and grouping their members. Already, a majority of the MLAs who had migrated to the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy camp have returned to the Congress and are ready to back the government. Further, the Congress could count on the PRP and MIM legislators.“The state government has failed in addressing the problems of farmers. It failed to mitigate their suffering and hence we will be moving a no-confidence motion against the government,” Chandrababu Naidu said, adding though corruption too would be taken up, the focus would remain on farmers’ problems. “There is no government worth its name in the state. Drought mandals are being announced in spells. So far not even a rupee has been allocated for drought relief. This is height of indifference,” he said.Naidu does not want to initiate any dialogue with other Opposition parties to support the no-confidence motion. “Farmers’ problems should be a priority to everyone. It is for them (opposition parties) to decide whether to support the no-confidence motion. It will show whether they have any concern for farmers or not,” Naidu said.TDP Leader A Revanth Reddy said it was more than likely that the TRS and the Jagan Mohan Reddy camp legislators would support the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. Jagan MLAs were returning to the Congress as part of an agreement Jagan Mohan Reddy had with the Centre for toning down the CBI investigation against him, he said. The TRS had gone on record saying that though they did not want to support Chandrababu Naidu, a ‘known anti-Telangana force’, they would support his motion against the government since they had lost faith in the Kiran Kumar Reddy government, TRS leader KT Rama Rao said. “This is not to say we have any working relationship with Naidu. Since we do not have enough strength to move a no-confidence motion, we will support the one moved by Naidu,” he said.
