A tsunami warning has been issued for East Asia and western coast of South America.
New Delhi: A tsunami warning has been issued for areas across East Asia and the western coast of South America following a huge earthquake that hit Japan on Friday.
The earthquake is said to be the fifth strongest since 1900.
Tsunami waves are likely to hit major countries which include Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Fiji, Hawaii and Indonesia.
The estimated time for the tsunami waves are as follows.
Tsunami waves are likely to hit Australia between 1535 to 1845 GMT, New Zealand between 1720 to 2215 GMT, Taiwan at 0940 GMT, Indonesia between 1015 to 1140 GMT and Hawaii between 1307 to 1346 GMT.
