Uma's Ram Roti Yatra reaches Ayodhya

New Delhi: Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti has reached Ayodhya in the final leg of her ‘Ram Roti Yatra’, which is nearing completion on Friday.

Long queues of people were seen on the roads waiting to catch a glimpse of the fiery sanyasin as the former MP chief minister marched on with her avowed objective of ‘exposing the

real character’ of the saffron party.

Bharti is expected to meet sants and mahants in a bid to garner their support and also take a dip in the holy Saryu river and offer puja at important temples in Ayodhya.

The senior party leader was expelled from the party on disciplinary grounds by the BJP Parliamentary Board on December 6.

There are speculations that the sanyasin has been trying to float a new political party.

Addressing a meeting at Barun Bazar, near Faizabad, on Thursday, the expelled leader accused certain BJP leaders of working as ‘power brokers’,and said the main aim of her ‘yatra’ was to ‘expose the real character’ of the saffron party.

"The BJP leaders have put the welfare of people on the backburner and workers are disappointed by the leadership," she said, adding that certain BJP leaders were working as 'power brokers to meet their own selfish ends' and top leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani were 'misguided'.

Uma said her 'real leader and guru were the people in the country and she will be guided by them to decide her future plan in political life'.

She wondered how the BJP would face the people on the question of Ayodhya, Hindutva and un-employment in the country.

She is expected to address a public meeting on Saturday after which she would leave for Lucknow.

She is expected to stay at the Karsevakpuram, the headquarters of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Ayodhya.
