Lucknow: In a shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh, 62-year-old Devidayal from Banda district was allegedly burnt alive. The victim's hands and legs were also broken.

Devidayal's family alleged Samajwadi Party leader's involvement and said that he got into a fight with MLA Bishamber Yadav after he allegedly forged a consent order to build a road near the former's home.

A family member of the victim's said, "They have used our land to build the road and have forcibly taken the RCC from us."

A murder case has been registered against the six accused but all of them are absconding. No action has been taken against the Samajwadi party leader as well.

A resident said, "Vishamber Yadav has the power. He is torturing the poor."

Even Devidayal's wife was brutally assaulted in April and has blamed Bishamber Yadav for it. Even when a complaint was filed with the police, no action was taken.

The police has sent Devidayal's body for a post-mortem and recorded the family's statement. But as justice eludes another family in Uttar Pradesh it is yet another case which exposes the lawlessness in the state.
