Students of a government school in Jalandhar have contributed Rs 65,000 to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund for helping people affected by the Uttarakhand floods.
"Students have raised a fund of Rs 65,000 with the help of teachers to contribute to the ongoing relief work in Uttarakhand," Amarjeet Kumar, a teacher of the Kendriya Vidyalaya, said.
A draft of the amount collected by the students was handed over to the state government by the school principal and it was forwarded to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund, he said.
