Chennai: Southern actor Vaibhav Reddy has been roped in to play the lead in the upcoming Tamil film 'Pizza 2: Villa', a sequel to Tamil horror-thriller "Pizza".
'Pizza' starred Vijay Sethupathi and was one of the biggest low-budget hits of 2012. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film's story revolved around the escapades of a pizza delivery boy.
'Vaibhav and Sajitha Shetty will pay the lead in 'Pizza 2: Villa', which will be directed by debutant director Deepan Chakravarthy," producer C V Kumaran said in a statement. "The rest of the cast will be finalised soon. The film will go on the floors in April."
Made on a shoestring budget of Rs 1.5 crore, 'Pizza' reportedly garnered over Rs 5 crore at the box-office. Filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar has already bought the Hindi remake rights of the film.
