NAMAKKAL: Gold jewellery and articles worth Rs 8 lakh were allegedly stolen from the house of a businessman near here on Wednesday.According to police sources, the burglars gained entry into the house of J Yogeshwaran of Kuppuchipalayam in Paramathi Velur by breaking the lock on the door.They then decamped with jewellery weighing 10 sovereigns of gold and 10 kg of silver articles.The burglary came to light when Yogeshwaran, who was staying with his father at Sulthanpettai near Velur, returned home on Tuesday. Forensic experts lifted fingerprints and foot marks while a sniffer dog, Poigai, was also brought to the house, the sources said.Yogeshwaran’s wife Snehapriya and their two daughters were away at Villupuram when the incident occurred.
