Vellore has 9,576 more women voters

The draft photo electoral roll-2012 was published in Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts on Monday.

Residents who are entitled to be included on the electoral rolls can scrutinise the draft electoral rolls and those seeking changes may apply to the district administration.

Publishing the electoral roll list which includes details of 26,66,900 voters, including 13,28,650 male voters, 13,38,226 female voters and 24 transgenders, Vellore Collector P Sankar said 3,897 names had been included in the supplementary voters list.

Sankar also said the electoral rolls will be displayed for public in the Collectorate, Revenue Divisional and Taluk Offices and 1,536 booths in the district from October 1 to October 30. 

Members of the public can verify whether their photograph, name, address and other details are correct on the electoral list.

Th members can obtain the forms from the respective booth level officer for inclusion, exclusion, change of address and correction in the list. The filled-in applications can be submitted in the respective booth, the Collector added further in the release.

Special camps would also be organised in schools on  October 7, 14 and 21, in this regard, for submitting the forms for inclusion and exclusion of names from the electoral roll list.

Persons who complete 18 years as on January 1, 2013 can also submit forms for inclusion of their names in the electoral list, the Collector added in the release.

Similarly, in Tiruvannamalai, District Revenue Officer S Valarmathi published the draft electoral rolls.

The draft revealed that there were  17,19,489 voters, including 8,60,824 male voters and 8,58,665 female voters.

Persons born before January 1, 1995 or completing 18 years on January 1, 2013 have been urged to submit form 6 for enrolling their name in the electoral list.

“We will place the draft electoral roll in the Grama Sabha meetings. The public can raise their objections apart from submitting the forms for inclusion, exclusion and change of address,” said District Revenue Officer S Valarmathi.
