Warangal should be named after Jayashankar

WARANGAL: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao has demanded that Warangal district should be named after Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar. "If the Congress government does not do so, it would be done after formation of separate Telangana," he said.The TRS chief was speaking at a commemoration meet on Jayashankar held under the aegis of Telangana political JAC here on Saturday. Recalling his association with Prof Jayashankar, Rao said none could fill the void. While some worked part-time in Telangana agitation, some others worked full-time. But Jayashankar worked life-time for the cause of Telangana, Rao said and added that he met leaders of many parties at the national-level and garnered support to the cause of T. "He met CPI national secretary Bardhan 38 times and secured support for Telangana. He also held discussions with Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati for same reason," KCR said.
