A sixty-year-old woman was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants when she resisted their robbery attempt, police said on Tuesday.
The incident happened on Monday night at Nauchandi area in Meerut. "The victim was alone at home last night when the robbers entered the house and started looting. When she resisted, the robbers hacked her with a knife," police said.
The victim Bina Bhatnagar (60) was the wife of a retired LIC officer. No details about the missing items could be ascertained yet, police said, adding, further investigations are on.
