The police said the woman was suspected to be mentally unsound and had frequent quarrels with her husband.
Nagpur: The woman, Sheela Bake (35), allegedly attacked her daughter Vaishali with a sharp weapon, inflicting injuries on the latter's neck and chest, resulting in her death, police said.
Later, the woman fled from her home and boarded a train. She got down at Wardha and jumped before a running train on Friday.
The Government Railway Police at Wardha sent her photo by email to Nagpur police, which confirmed her identity.
