Caught on Cam: Speeding Bus Rams Car, Keels Over in Kolkata; 10 Injured

In a deadly accident on October 3, a private bus in Kolkata jumped a signal and rammed into a car, which was coming from its right ride. The impact of the accident was such that the bus keeled over. However, none was injured in the accident, which took place in College More in North Kolkata.

The two passengers, who were in the car, got saved after their airbags got activated during the accident. According to a Times of India report, at least 10 passengers,who were in the bus got injured and were taken to the hospital. The bus was coming from Sector V and was heading towards Salt Lake.

The accident took place around 7.30am when the bus was carrying around 30 passengers. It is alleged that the bus was attempting to pass through the traffic signal when the driver lost control. The bus collided with a private car before coming to rest on its side.

Fortunately, all occupants in the car emerged unharmed. However, approximately 10 bus passengers required rescue efforts from both police officers and local individuals. They were subsequently transported to Bidhannagar sub-divisional hospital in police vehicles and an ambulance.

Subsequently, law enforcement personnel deployed a crane to reposition the bus and then towed it to the police station. Legal proceedings were initiated against the bus driver and helper.
