Expert Explains What Bone Cracking And Joint Popping Mean For Your Health
If you feel any pain in your joint, then consult a doctor on an immediate basis.

There are multiple organs in our body, each having different functions. If any organs stop working, the entire system gets disturbed. That’s why it is advised to maintain your overall health and not to eat food that can make your system weak, as it might cause trouble in the long term. Sometimes, you must have heard some sound coming from your body. For instance, if your stomach is upset, it starts making noises; or if you have a cold or cough, it reflects in your breathing. You may have also heard sounds of joints cracking. While these are considered normal in most cases, they might indicate disease at times.

Dr Bharat Goswami, orthopaedic specialist at Fortis Hospital Greater Noida, said if a young person — aged between 20-40 years — hears a sound of joints cracking, then it is a good sign. This reflects that the tone of their soft tissues is healthy and cartilage degeneration has nothing to do with this. If the sound comes from someone over 40, that too from the knees, then it can be a cartilage-related problem and that can be a bad sign.

If you are young, then you do not need to worry if you hear a joint cracking sound, as it is normal. If you feel any pain in your joint, then consult a doctor on an immediate basis, sometimes these problems can occur at a young age.

According to experts, eating a rich diet that is packed with nutrients can prevent joint pain. Eating foods like dairy products, leafy greens, and fortified cereals provides calcium. It is essential for bone health, and sunlight, fatty fish, and fortified foods like milk can help you get enough vitamin D, which helps your body absorb calcium. Doing regular exercise, avoiding smoking and alcohol, and maintaining a healthy weight as underweight and overweight can put stress on your bones so try to maintain a balanced diet. Do not take any supplements without consulting a doctor as they may harm your body’s health and can cause a long-term problem.
