In an exclusive interview with IBNLive.com, Mohit revealed the secret behind his ‘fit-as-a-fiddle’ body which has been admired by his female fans. When asked about what fitness means to him, he said, “Fitness is a base to be sane in life. For me, it is a medium to stay happy in life. Health is wealth.”

The ‘Banoo Main Teri Dulhan’ star is a stalwart of strict regimen. Mohit, who feels that the only secret to healthy body is working out, said, “I like to workout everyday in the year, not just on a Sunday afternoon. When I don’t work out, I feel stressed all through the day.”

The actor condemns the concept of crash dieting wherein people give up eating the things they love and begin to follow diet charts blindly. “People have lost their charm because of dieting. So many actors and friends of mine do that. Ye nahi khaaugi, wo nahi kaauga doesn’t work.”

His drool-worthy body that got highlighted through his much-talked-about recent dance moves in ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ has taken the fitness levels up a notch. Talking about eating habits, the actor explained, “During the day, I have almost everything. I take dessert as well but yes, I do work out. It keeps me in a good mood. Why stop yourself and not have something which you like? It adds to your charm as well.”

Not just ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’, Mohit also ventured in ‘Nach Baliye 7’ with his adorable wife Aditee Malik. Elaborating on the tips, he said, ‘We aren’t old enough that we should avoid having food’. “Old ho jaayege toh waise bhi nahi khaa paayege. I want to live my life without restrictions. I like to be free. “

When asked about his fitness guru from Bollywood, the actor immediately responded with Akshay Kumar’s name. “At the age he is in he just looks great. He is my idol for fitness cues.” Sounding upbeat about the fact that he’s a Punjabi, Mohit said, “He doesn’t have a proper Greek body but he has a fit body which one should have. One should be fit enough. Not bigger biceps, or abs but just be fit.” Among the actresses, he feels that Jaqueline Fernandez and Bipasha Basu are the fittest with great bodies.

“We, as actors, can not remain in a particular shape throughout the year; we’ll be dying the next year. We have to switch on and off between our diets depending on our project’s requirements”, he said while expressing the agony of actors.

Sharing his list of ‘Dos and Donts’ for a healthy state of living, the small screen star mentioned that he tends to avoid carbs after 8 or 9 and tried to maintain a reasonable gap between his last meal and seeping time. He also suggests that if you feel hungry before sleeping, go for fresh fruits instead of the usual food items. Highlighting the importance of sunlight for a fine fettle which most of us don’t realise, the well-toned actor said, “I love to get up in a morning and go in the sun. The worst day of my life becomes when I don’t get the morning sun. One should always get some sun in the morning to meet the requirement of Vitamin D.”

The actor signed off with a note that might help a lot of young strivers to reach their ultimate health goal. He said, “To work towards a good body is very simple. Wake up early, go for a jog, go for a run, just workout. Be a morning person, don’t be a late night person.”
