As EVOO is less processed, it retains a higher concentration of antioxidants, making it a potent weapon against chronic illnesses and an excellent tool for immune support.

It can be used for cooking, drizzled over salads, or even blended into smoothies. “For many healthy adults, consuming one tablespoon of olive oil on an empty stomach in the morning may help alleviate constipation,” Gupta notes. Researchers have also found that the polyphenols in olive oil are easily absorbed by the intestine, potentially contributing to a healthy gut microbiota, which is closely linked to improved immunity.

Specialty, small-batch olive oils with unique flavor profiles are becoming more widely available, attracting consumers who value both health and taste.
