Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan will be celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary this year but the actress says it feels like they tied the knot only yesterday.
Talking about her marital life with Abhishek, she recently told Famously Filmfare, “It feels like yesterday and what’s funny is that everyone else thinks so too. It’s going to be 12 years in April and it’s flown by, which is a great sign. I am clueless about the time that’s flown by."
On the kind of arguments that they have, she laughed off, saying, “You don’t want to know." However, she quickly added, “We’re both very generously been given very strong genes. So, we’re inherently very strong personalities. I think there is a very fine line between arguing and discussing and that’s something we’re still arriving at discovering what is what. We discuss aloud a lot. I have put it politely as discuss. We probably argue but…"
However, Aishwarya avoided giving a direct answer when asked about Abhishek’s one thing or habit that she doesn’t like at all. She said, “It has been 12 years. I don’t how many years before that we’ve known each other as friends. We’ve known each other through quite a long time. We’ve always conversed a lot and communicated a lot, in all its shades, in all the colours of the rainbow and we have glitzed and blinged out as well."
The 45-year-old also revealed that Abhishek first proposed marriage to her when they were in New York, right after their film Guru’s Toronto premiere and all the rest followed in a whirlwind after that.
Notably, Aishwarya and Abhishek made their relationship public only after announcing their engagement in 2007. They got married soon after in a private ceremony at the Bachchan house in Mumbai’s Juhu. They are now parents to seven-year-old Aaradhya Bachchan.
