Akshay Kumar's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan collected Rs 15.65 crore on the first day, while Ajay Devgn's Maidaan minted only Rs 7.1 crore opening at the box office.

On the occasion of Eid, Bollywood saw the release of two highly anticipated films–Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan and Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Expected to be a huge clash among the superstars of Bollywood, the worldwide collection of the movies has shocked the moviegoers. Despite a decent opening for Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the movie’s earnings have faced a decline in the successive days after its release. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan received appreciation from the critics for its content but the box office collection portrays a different story. The movie is struggling to find its audience in the theatres. The per-day collection of the movie is still standing in single digits. With only Rs 7.1 crore on its first day, the film’s worldwide collection stands at Rs 22 crore, so far. In comparison, the action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has minted a comparatively decent amount of Rs 40 crore in four days after its release.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is an action movie which is written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. It stars Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chillar, and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. After impressing the viewers with high-octane action sequences as shown in the trailer, the film minted a good opening of Rs 15.65 crore on the first day. On the second day, the movie’s earnings were halved to Rs 7.6 crores. On the third day, the movie did a business of Rs 8.5 crore. According to the latest reports of Sacnilk, the film has done a business of Rs 9 crore across the country on the fourth day ( Sunday).

According to the report of Sacnilk, Maidaan’s opening of Rs. 7.1 crores included the paid previews collection. The film did a business of Rs 2.75 crore on the second day and Rs 5.75 crore on the third day. Whereas, on the fourth day, Maidan collected Rs 6.25 crore.

Maidaan is directed by Amit Ravindranath Sharma and stars Ajay Devgn in lead roles. The actor plays the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, a pioneering football coach of India between 1952 and 1962.
