Bhramam Makers Confirm Ahaana Krishna’s Exit Was a Creative Decision
Through a statement the makers of Bhramam have confirmed that Ahaana Krishna was initially considered for a part in the film. However, she was dropped later as she did not fit the character.

The filmmaker and producers of the forthcoming Mollywood film, Bhramam have issued a public statement to put an end to rumours that suggested Ahaana Krishna’s exclusion from the cast had something to do with her political affiliations. A few media reports had alleged of discrimination against Ahaana during the film’s pre-production. Now in the note shared on social media, the makers have confirmed that Ahaana was initially considered for a part. However, she was dropped later as she did not fit the character. The statement categorically denied any other consideration when it came to casting or choice of technicians of the film and revealed that it was a creative decision.

It was also stated that Ahaana even took part in the audition process for the part she was being considered for. As per the statement, she was emphatically informed that the final call would be taken post costume trial and look test. She was explicitly forbidden to give the word out until official confirmation. However, she was involved with another film at the time and later tested positive for COVID-19. Later when the photo test was done, the DOP and the creative team felt Ahaana would not fit the role and assured her they would work together in future.

“As professionals with more than a combined experience of 100 years in cinema we believe and take all precautions that the art of cinema should be untouched by discrimination based on caste, creed, colour, gender, religion or politics,” read the statement issued by the makers. The note also specified that the lead actor, Prithviraj Sukumaran and other cast and crew members of the film had nothing to do with the casting decision.

Bhramam marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Ravi K Chandran. The film also features Mamta Mohandas, Unni Mukundan, and Raashi Khanna. The filming was wrapped in 39 days. It is the Malayalam remake of the Bollywood film Andhadhun, starring Ayushmann Khurana.
