Bigg Boss 11: Why Hina Khan Getting Mobbed Outside House Shouldn't Be Taken Lightly

"Ghar wale bhi na samajhte nahi hain kabhi kabhi, wo sirf star nahi hai, duniya hai meri..." Remember this line by Shah Rukh Khan’s Gaurav Chandna in Fan? We often come across stories where fans get emotional and feel on top of the world when their stars reciprocate the love by interacting with them in person or via social media. Similarly, it doesn’t take them long to bring those same celebs down when the latter beg for some privacy.

In August, actor Ileana D’Cruz had tweeted about her harrowing experience with a male fan while she was promoting Baadshaho. The actor had spoken about the problem of public not treating celebrities like human beings. "It's a pretty shitty world we live in. I'm a public figure. I understand that I don't have the luxury of a private & an anonymous life. But that doesn't give any man the right to misbehave with me. Don't confuse "fan antics" with that. I am a WOMAN at the end of the day," she had said at the time.

Two months later, popular show Stranger Things child actor Finn Wolfhard had come under fire after he didn’t stop to click pictures with fans outside his hotel. Not only was the 14-year-old mercilessly trolled on social media but also accused of being rude to his well-wishers. Imagine!

Unfortunately such unhealthy obsession is not just limited to Bollywood or Hollywood; it's all too common in every prestigious, high-profile industry, including cricket, fashion and TV.

Nowadays with the lives of most people so heavily ensnared in social media, their craze for celebrities have gone to a whole other level. One of the most recent and most disturbing examples of this case happened to Indian TV actor Hina Khan, who is currently on the latest season of reality show Bigg Boss.

Hina has been one of the most controversial contestants on the show. Ever since the 11th season kickstarted, Hina's actions and reactions have been under the radar, so much so that the actor was unabashedly ridiculed by her fellow colleagues on social media. Interestingly, despite all the negativity, Hina’s fans continue to be by her side and have time and again proved their loyalty towards her. But does that give them the right to misbehave with her?

On Thursday, Hina, along with other nominated contestants Vikas Gupta, Shilpa Shinde and Luv Tyagi, stepped out of the BB house to meet fans for a Live vote appeal. But little did she know that she would become victim of obsessive fans turned neurotic.

The event, which took place at Inorbit mall in Vashi, Mumbai, saw thousands of over-enthusiastic fans gather in support, holding banners and placards of their favourite contestant. But things went out of control when some fans went a bit too far in their effort to get close to Hina.

While the actor was walking up the stage for vote appeal, someone pulled her hair so badly that she started screaming. Once again, while Shilpa was interacting with her fans, someone tried to misbehave with Hina, and pulled her hair, leaving the actor in a state of deep shock.
