Disney made a big splash at CinemaCon 2024, by treating fans with several exciting footage from Inside Out 2, Deadpool and Wolverine, Captain America: Brave New World, Moana 2, Mufasa: The Lion King, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and more. However, it was the clip from Captain America 4 that stole the show, featuring Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America. Attendees were left on the edge of their seats as they watched Sam Wilson in action-packed scenes saving Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross, played by Harrison Ford, from attackers in the White House. All the intense action happens after Ross asks Wilson to help him rebuild the Avengers. Interestingly, the movie is set after the events of the Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series.
The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie promises to bring back a few familiar faces and introduce new characters and exciting cameos. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the clip starts at the White House, where President Ross calls Wilson and expresses his desire to rebuild the Avengers following the events of Endgame. The scene shifts to Ross thanking Captain America and Phoenix for helping the country during the crisis. Suddenly, the tension escalates after loud music disrupts the meeting and triggers a former soldier Isiah Bradley, who then tries to attack the president.
In an earlier conversation with the portal, Harrison Ford spoke about joining the Marvel Studios and said, “I watch all these terrific actors having a good time. I like doing something different to what I’ve ever done and pleasing people with it. So I’ll try a piece of that.”
In addition to some thrilling action sequences, the upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World could see Sam Wilson recruiting new members. There are speculations that characters from The Marvels, such as Iman Vellani and Hailee Steinfeld, might make appearances. Together, they’ll set the stage for the Young Avengers.
Directed by Julius Onah, the upcoming Captain America 4 introduces veteran actor Harrison Ford in the role of Thunderbolt Ross. Ford stepped into the shoes of the late William Hurt, who earlier played the character. Returning to the cast is Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, the young man who becomes the Falcon following Sam Wilson’s promotion as Captain America. Along with them, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Carl Lumbly, and Shira Haas, will be seen in key roles when the movie hits theatres on February 14, 2025.
