Deadpool & Wolverine's Hugh Jackman Reveals Why He Returned To Play Logan: 'I Know Fans Wanted To See Him'
Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds sat down for an interesting conversation ahead of their upcoming film's release.

Marvel Studios has sparked a fresh wave of excitement after tickets for one of its highly-awaited films, Deadpool & Wolverine, went on sale. Set to hit theatres this summer, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s film promises to be a blend of sharp humour and exciting twists. Along with the tickets, a new teaser was also dropped on Monday, leaving viewers in splits with their epic banter.

As the tickets are now on sale, Fandango got into an interesting conversation with director Shawn Levy, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. From Hugh Jackman opening up about the reason he returned to Marvel to Ryan Reynolds sharing his journey with the franchise, the interview has equally left fans hyped and excited.

Hugh Jackman On Returning As The Iconic Wolverine

Speaking about his return to the iconic character, Jackman said, “I was on my way; I was driving, and literally, just like a bolt of lightning, it came deep from my gut that I wanted to do this film. When I said I was done, I really I was done. Back of my head, ever since I saw Deadpool on the screen, I knew I had to do it. I know fans wanted to see the characters together. So I just knew. I couldn’t wait.”

The actor hilariously also revealed how he immediately called Ryan (Reynolds) and agreed to do the film, further adding that he even forgot to inform his agent about the commitment.

On the other hand, Ryan Reynolds also spoke about the film and his journey portraying the MCU’s Merc with a Mouth.

“Until I finally close my eyes to this weird and wacky world, I will never forget the first time I sat in a movie theatre for Deadpool 1. It was a fan screening, and all the folks who would normally go see this movie were there. It wasn’t like a fancy premiere. We’ve never done that with Deadpool, as we have always invited the fans in to watch it with us for the first time. I have never experienced joy, elation, or a sense of community like that in a movie theatre ever. Those kinds of experiences you can’t share with everyone else. You want to feel that laughter, that warmth, and that emotion in the room,” he said, adding that Deadpool 3 will be a mix of its predecessors.

As Ryan touched down on the iconic reunion of Logan and Deadpool, he emphasised that Hugh’s character cannot be replaced. “There’s only one Wolverine,” he said, prompting Levy to chime in and add, “There’s also one Deadpool. And I will tell you, the audience will see these guys in their most iconic characters, and it will be a delight.”

Deadpool & Wolverine will be released on July 26, 2024.
