Dhananjaya-starrer Uttarakaanda Team Concludes Auditions For Additional Cast Members

Kannada star Dhananjaya’s upcoming movie Uttarakaanda’s filming is expected to begin soon. The auditioning process for its additional cast members concluded on March 28. Many young men and women gathered at Sawai Gandharva Hall in Hubballi (Karnataka) to audition for various roles in the Dhanajaya-starrer movie. The film is directed by Rohit Padaki and stars Dhananjaya, Dignath Manchale and actress Ramya in the lead roles. A wild gangster drama set in the northern region of Karnataka, the makers were hiring local artists to increase the authenticity of the film. The movie will be filmed in North Kannada language.

Dhananjaya, who is also known for his role in the film Tagaru, attended the audition hall and encouraged the actors who were giving auditions since morning. The casting process reportedly started at 9:30 am. He welcomed the aspiring actors and said that North Karnataka harbours so much talent and hence it needs to grow. “So many people auditioned. I don’t know what character you are playing. But come, let’s work together in this Uttarakaanda movie”, he reportedly said and inspired the auditioners.

While reflecting on his previous ventures, Dhananjaya said that they tried to bring the North Kannada language into the movie Gurudev Hoysala last year. Some characters spoke the Bengaluru language which spoiled the true authenticity of the North Kannada district dialect in the film. Hence, Dhananjaya ensured that his upcoming movie Uttarakaanda will harbour the true North Carnatic dialect as it is set in the North Kannada region of Karnataka. Gurudev Hoysala was directed by Vijay Nagendra and was produced under the banner of KRG Studios.

Dhananjaya wished the aspiring actors good luck and took selfies with them before leaving the audition hall.

The makers of Uttarakaanda took auditions on March 27 and 28. The first audition call for the local artist was made at BLDEA’S VP Dr PGHalakatti College of Engineering and Technology in Vijaypura.

Dhananjaya will be portraying the fictional character of gangster Gabru Sathya in the movie as showcased by the makers in the character introduction video. It was released a few months ago by the makers.
