Dhanush Shares FIRST Post After Speech About Buying Home in Rajinikanth's Area: 'This Is the Best...'

Dhanush shared his first social media post after he was criticised for his speech about buying a house in Poes Garden. The actor came under fire for portraying himself as an outsider despite being the son of a filmmaker. Although he did not address the controversial speech in his first post since it went viral, he thanked everyone for all the love they gave him on his birthday and his film, Raayan. The film released just in time for his birthday and has emerged as a blockbuster.

In a statement on X, Dhanush thanked everyone for making his birthday a ‘blockbuster’. “My sincere thanks to the audience, film fraternity, friends, press, and media, and my pillars of support — my fans fr showering me with all your blessings. This is the best BLOCKBUSTER birthday gift ever,” he wrote.

Raayan released on July 26. The Tamil film has reportedly earned a whopping Rs 75 crores in its opening weekend. Sun Pictures, who produced the film, has declared the film a ‘blockbuster’. Raayan is directed by Dhanush. The film, which also stars him in the lead, marks Dhanush’s 50th film.

The action-packed revenge drama also features S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Saravanan. The music is scored by maestro AR Rahman. It is one of the highly anticipated Tamil films of the year. The film has been certified A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Meanwhile, Dhanush made headlines last week when his speech from the Raayan audio launch was aired on television. In the speech, Dhanush hinted that eyebrows were raised when he bought a house in the same neighbourhood as his former father-in-law, superstar Rajinikanth. The actor said that it was his dream to have a house in the same locality and is glad that his dream has come true.
