Tamil cinema stalwart Rajinikanth is eagerly anticipating the release of his Vettaiyan, written and directed by TG Gnanavel. This film will be released at the cinema halls on October 10, 2024. According to the latest reports, Rajinikanth has been paid an estimated Rs 100-Rs 125 crore for his role in the film. According to a news portal, the remunerations of the other actors in the star cast are as follows. The report mentions that Amitabh Bachchan has raked in Rs 7 crore for his role and Fahadh Faasil has been paid Rs 2-4 crore. Rana Daggubati has received Rs 5 crore, and actress Manju Warrier received Rs 85 lakh. Another actress Ritika Singh has been paid Rs 25 lakh for her role. Actors Dushara Vijayan, Rao Ramesh, Rohini and others also comprise the ensemble cast of Vettaiyan. Produced by Lyca Productions, this film is an action crime drama.
Sun TV unveiled a prevue of this film on September 20, 2024, that gives an insight into the film’s plot. The prevue shows how Amitabh Bachchan’s character officer Sathyadev despises the encounter specialists. Rajinikanth’s character is shown to be an encounter specialist, who was transferred for his action against the criminals. Their characters are shown to be at loggerheads due to conflicting ideals. The film’s glimpse also introduces the other characters. Vettaiyan’s prevue has garnered 11 million views and counting.

Even before the release, Vettaiyan, according to reports, the film has earned an astonishing USD 97,000 (roughly Rs 80 lakh). The film has earned this amount from nearly 4,000 advance ticket sales. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the film’s music. S R Kathir serves as the cinematographer and Philomin Raj is handling the edits.
