Diljit Dosanjh Recalls Working With Kareena Kapoor In Udta Punjab: ‘It Was A Huge Deal’

Diljit Dosanjh’s collaboration with Kareena Kapoor Khan has always been a hit. From Udta Punjab to Good Newwz and now Crew, the two have been killing it with their acting skills. For Diljit Dosanjh, Udta Punjab was his debut film in Bollywood. He made his entry into the Hindi film industry with stalwarts like Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor. Dosanjh recently reminisced about his experience working with Kareena Kapoor and highlighted the warmth and support she extended to him on set.

During a conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, the Punjabi singer recalled his first day at Udta Punjab sets and said. “My first day of shoot for a Hindi movie was with Kareena Kapoor (in Udta Punjab). At that time, I was like, ‘I have watched the movies of this actor with whom I am working today.’ So, that was one great moment.”

Diljit Dosanjh fondly recalled how Kareena Kapoor approached him on the first day, mentioning that her staff wanted to take photos with him. “That was a huge deal for me. I never ever thought I would even meet her in life. Our scene hasn’t started yet. So, big artists like her cool you down when you’re working with them for the first time,” he said before acknowledging that Kareena Kapoor’s gesture was aimed at making him feel comfortable. “I felt great,” Diljit mentioned.

Now, the two stars have collaborated once again in Crew. The movie has instantly captured the audience’s hearts. With Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon leading the cast, Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma play crucial roles in the film.

Apart from their on-screen chemistry, Diljit Dosanjh and Kareena Kapoor also share a strong camaraderie off-screen. During Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations, Diljit Dosanjh showered praise on Kareena Kapoor, declaring, “Hogi Rihanna, hogi Beyonce, sadi ta ae he hai, Kareena. (They have their Rihanna and Beyonce, but Kareena is everything to us).” He then entertained the crowd by serenading them with his hit track Proper Patola. In response, Kareena joined the singer on the dance floor.

Next up, Diljit Dosanjh will be gracing the screen alongside Parineeti Chopra in Amar Singh Chamkila. The movie is set to release theatrically on April 12. He also has a Punjabi film titled Jatt & Juliet 3 in the pipeline.
