Elvish Yadav Snake Venom Case: Punjab High Court Asks Police To Ensure Safety of Animal Rights Activists
Last month, Elvish Yadav was also accused of giving death threats to the welfare officer of the People’s For Animal (PFA) in Ghaziabad.

In a big development in the Noida snake venom case, the Punjab and Haryana High Court have instructed police officials to step up the security of the animal rights activists who filed complaints against the YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav. As reported by E-Times, the court has asked police officials that the activists should be provided security whenever they need to appear before the Gurugram court.

Interestingly, this comes a month after Yadav was also accused of giving death threats to the welfare officer of the People’s For Animal (PFA) in Ghaziabad. The officer, named Sourabh Gupta, had complained in the Nandgram area of Ghaziabad, accusing Elvish of threatening him and his brother via social media. He claimed that ever since his team busted the Sname Venom Case gang in Noida, they have been getting threats repeatedly. Reportedly, in his complaint, Gupta also claimed that he was afraid for his life and argued that if anything happened to him or his brother, Elvish and his fans must be responsible.

Elvish Yadav has been making headlines in connection to the Noida snake venom case for a long time now. An FIR was filed against Elvish late last year after his name came up in a rave party where snakes and venom were allegedly found. Later, politician and animal rights activist Maneka Gandhi accused the YouTuber of supplying snake venom to rave parties in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. A case was lodged under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and for criminal conspiracy under section 120B of the Indian Penal Code.

On March 17 this year, Elvish Yadav was arrested and taken into judicial custody. Later NDTV reported that the YouTuber ‘admitted to arranging snakes and snake venom’ at rave parties. An insider told the news portal that Yadav also ‘admitted that he had met the accused at different rave parties and was in contact with them.’ He was granted bail on March 22.
