Babil Khan started his Bollywood career with the Netflix original film Qala also starring Tripti Dimri.

Many Bollywood celebs are said to have gained recognition in the industry because they belong to a filmy family background. Abhishek Bachchan, Tusshar Kapoor, Ananya Pandey, Sara Ali Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Suhana Khan, to name a few, are said to be in the limelight because of nepotism. However, there is also a star kid in the industry who is the son of a big actor but has made a name for himself in the industry on his own.

With his work and talent, this star kid not only won the hearts of the audience but also brought glory to his late father. The actor is none other than Babil Khan, son of the late actor Irrfan Khan.

Babil Khan started his Bollywood career with the Netflix original film Qala. The period psychological drama film was written and directed by Anvita Dutt. The film is produced by Karnesh Sharma under the banner of Clean Slate Filmz and stars Tripti Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee and Babil Khan in his film debut.

Qala was released on Netflix on December 1, 2022. It is loosely based on K Viswanath’s Swathi Kiranam and Miloš Forman’s Amadeus. The film was a huge success at the 2023 Filmfare OTT Awards. Qala received six nominations, including Best Web Original Film, Best Actress in a Web Original Film (Dimri) and Best Supporting Actress in a Web Original Film (Mukherjee), and won Best Production Design (Web Original Film) (Meenal Agarwal).

Babil received immense appreciation from the viewers for his outstanding performance. After this, he didn’t look back. In 2023, he was seen playing Juhi Chawla’s son Siddharth Menon in the Netflix original film Friday Night Plan. The coming-of-age comedy-drama film is written and directed by Vatsal Neelakantan. It also featured Amrith Jayan, Aadhya Anand, Ninad Kamat, Ria Chaudhary, Aditya Jain, and Medha Rana in pivotal roles.

He next starred in YRF’s web series The Railway Men, a story on the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, alongside Divyendu Sharma, Kay Kay Menon and R Madhavan in pivotal roles. Babil Khan will soon be seen in the upcoming movie, The Umesh Chronicles. It is written and directed by Pooja Kaul and also stars Aiza Khan, Kriti Panth, Amitabh Bachchan, Leela Samson and Zayn Marie Khan as the main leads.
