A young woman who was gang-raped by 10 men in Haryana has reportedly filed a Rs 10 crore lawsuit against actor Salman Khan. Days after Khan compared himself to a raped woman while describing his shooting schedule on the sets of the film Sultan, a legal notice has been sent to him through Punjab and Haryana High Court advocate Rajat Kalsan.
According to the notice, if Salman fails to compensate the survivor with the given amount within 15 days, the lawyer will be forced to file a civil and criminal case against him.
The survivor has stated that Khan had tried to joke about the dilemma of rape victims by comparing a tough action sequence to the condition of a gang-raped woman.
‘I have sent a notice to Salman Khan on his rape comment as my client who happens to be a rape victim was upset and worried that he was making rape a joking matter. He must compensate my client,’ Lawyer Rajat Kalsan said.
Four years ago the survivor was kidnapped by 10 people and gang-raped in Hisar. The court had sentenced the assaulters to life imprisonment. The survivor wants death penalty for the accused. Her father committed suicide following the incident.
