'Irritated' Ranbir Kapoor Screams at an Awards Show, Karan Johar In Shock; Video Goes Viral

Ranbir Kapoor channelled his inner ‘Animal’ at a recent awards show. The actor, who is nominated in the Best Category at several awards show including News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024, was seen attending an awards show in Gujarat. The ceremony was hosted by Karan Johar and Ayushmann Khurrana. A video from the awards show was shared on social media which showed Ranbir seated in the audience while Karan and Ayushmann hosted.

In the video, Karan appeared to be asking Ranbir for help. “Ranbir hi kar sakta hai, Ranbir hi karega, Ranbir ko hi karna chahiye, Ranbir must help us,” Karan said, addressing Ranbir. An irritated Ranbir cut him off and repeated his dialogue from Animal, “Sunayi de raha hai, behra nahi hoon main (I can listen, I am not deaf).” His reaction left Karan in shock. Although Ranbir looked angry, it seemed as though it was a part of the act that the trio was putting up for the awards show.

For the unversed, Ranbir played the role of an aggressive son in Animal. The film revolved around a dysfunctional relationship between a father and son. Ranbir won the award for Best Actor at the show and he remembered his father, late Rishi Kapoor during his acceptance speech. “I’d like to dedicate this award to is Mr Rishi Kapoor – Papa Meri Jaan. Everyday I think of you, I remember you. And everything I feel for you…the love, the affection I try to channelise it through this part and I hope you are up there in peace and resting,” he said.

He also dedicated the award to Sandeep Vanga Reddy, who directed Animal, and his daughter Raha Kapoor. He went on to reveal he calls Raha by the nickname ‘naughty.’
