Jimmy Kimmel, who has interviewed numerous stars and hosted the Oscars multiple times, recently shared his star-struck moment after attending a private Hollywood party. While appearing on The Howard Stern Show, Kimmel and his wife, Molly McNearney, recounted their experience at Paul McCartney’s birthday party at his Los Angeles mansion. The highlight of the night was when pop sensation Taylor Swift turned DJ for the high-profile guests. Swift, along with her boyfriend and athlete Travis Kelce, joined a gathering that included Ringo Starr, Mick Jagger, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Bruce Springsteen, Steven Spielberg, and Austin Butler, among others. Kimmel noted that Swift was streaming music from her iPhone and transformed McCartney’s kitchen into a dance floor.
Kimmel shared, “It was a party at Paul McCartney’s house. We were invited to a dinner that night and then the host of the dinner got invited to other party and said ‘Why don’t we all go to the party.’ So we went to the party and Taylor Swift was DJing, she just had her iPhone and kind of tapped into the house system but it wasn’t like she was hired to work there.”
Further, when Howard Stern asked if there was a jam session between all the singers, to this Jimmy Kimmel responded, “No, but People were dancing in the kitchen. I think what you do in a party like that is you gravitate toward the people you already know and you can’t believe that this is happening that we’re here and you kind of leave it at that.”
Talking about his conversation with Bruce Springsteen, Kimmel added, “He’s funny. We had a good chat. We talked about Elvis Presley and we talked about being in LA. We even had that moment like ‘Can you believe this party.’ Even Bruce Springsteen was like, ‘This is some party’.”
Meanwhile, Molly McNearney was unsure if the party would be an intimate dinner or a grand affair before arriving at the venue. However, she felt comfortable speaking with Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox. McNearney admitted feeling awkward, as she was not sure about how to react amid such high-profile artists.
Earlier this month, Austin Butler made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show and described the party as “insane.” While Kimmel called it “one of the wildest parties.” During the conversation, Butler also confirmed that Taylor Swift was their DJ during the gathering.
