Shruti, a 24-year-old Kannada TV serial actress, was found dead at her friend Shrikanth's house Kachohalli in Nelamangala on Tuesday. As media reports suggest, the actress had gone to her friend’s house for a party where the two got into a tiff. Disturbed by what had happened during the party, Shruti locked herself in the room where she allegedly committed suicide (she had reportedly hung herself from the ceiling).
The actress, seen in the Kannada serial 'Avanu Matthu Shravani', was married to entrepreneur Umesh.
After a while, Shrikanth knocked at the door. But since he didn’t get any response, he broke open the door at around 2.30 am and found Shruthi’s dead body. He immediately reported the incident to the police.
On the basis of Umesh’s complaint, the police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against Srikanth.
